I know I should have written this post ages ago - my apologies. I must remember that not everyone uses those other sites! Thanks Jean for the reminder.
I do think I have started this post about five times already. Every time something happens like my internet goes slow or some one has to be somewhere and I had forgotten......anyway here are a few photos from my trip to Sydney for the 2013 Sydney teddy Bear Fair.
We had horrid rain up here in Brissie and it was headed to Sydney. My first and last stop was Melissa's shop Mushi and Boo ( The Art of Teddy Bears) where I stayed for the weekend. I just love Mel's shop. It is full of lots and lots of gorgeous things. I was especially chuffed to see the display of my bears and my bear patterns and samples.
Due to the rain of course I had was happy to stay inside and complete a few more bears for the show.
Actually I arrived in Sydney with only 4 fully completed bears and about 10 to be dressed.
I really got a lot of work done.
On Sunday morning I surprised myself with how much I had achieved.
I just loved these two big girls - they are still both for sale on my website
Here is a closer look at my table. I love the big string of hearts and all the bows. I think I will decorate the table cloth permanently with the bows.
Now I also have some exciting news .............we will be having a bear only show here in Brisbane in August - more details soon.
I have been trying to be a busy bear artist and complete a few bears for this Sunday.
The inaugural Brisbane Teddy Bear Fair will be held at the Holiday Inn, Roma Street, Brisbane this Sunday. It has been five years since we had a BEAR ONLY fair here in Brissie. The show is on from 10am to 4pm. I can't wait! Thanks Melissa for organising the show.
So far I have a few bears nearly completed and a few more in bits!
Lucky I still have a few more days up my sleeve!
Now for my other news- The new Megelles Studio.
Just over 12 months ago, we moved house and since then my sewing room has been the dining room table and the study. I have so much stuff in the study- it is claustrophobic. There is just enough room for me.
The new studio will be in the garage. It is a separate building about 50m away from the house. (We have a new shed for all the stuff that was in the garage).
Doesn't it look cute!! It won't be ready for a few weeks as the plastering still needs to be completed and then we need to paint and put down the flooring.
I better get back to bear making and hopefully I will see you on Sunday!
