Last Sunday I traded at the Heavenly Stitches Fair . It is a great little boutique craft fair. There was plenty of room and a great outlook.
I surprised myself when I looked at this photo. It is a small selection of my stitchery range. The display looked okay.
Alas the bear end of my table look a little bare - excuse the pun.
I caught up with a few other traders - Merilyn Pursell of Bearwilderedbears. We had a great afternoon chatting. Her new little bear range is so cute!!
Wendy was also there. She has a great range of hand dyed mohair and miniature bear fabric. Her business is called Wanda Jaye Collectables. Wendy doesn't often come up to Brisbane so it was nice to see her range in the fur.

For those wishing to design your own bear, this will be the first of three workshops. I will also cater for those wishing to improve their bear making (and I will supply a pattern for you).
In the workshop, we will concentrate on making the head only. We will cover fabric choices, ear and eye placement and size, nose styles and size. I will demonstrate easier ways to embroider noses and sew on ears. We will also look at different ways to put character into your bear's face. I will include a multitude of different techniques to make your bear making a more enjoyable experience. We will cover areas like tracing, fabric choice, stuffing, fur direction and airbrushing. I will also include sewing machine techniques and if time permits dressing your bear.
I have no idea what happened to winter here in Brissie. We have had a week of 30°c. It is more like late spring or early summer.
I have been sewing just a little bit. I have just designed 2 new bears. The first one is for the German teddy bear publication - BaerReport magazine. I have designed the most gorgeous little bear for them. Sorry but no photos just yet.
The second is for a friend and it will be auctioned at a charity function in late October.
Anyway here is a photo of part of my sewing room and the bears that I currently have available.
